Miss Harley Straub
Miss Straub joined Susquenita in October 2022 as a High School Counselor.
In both high school and college, Miss Straub played field hockey (goalie) and competed for the track and field (throwing) teams as well as was involved in other school activities. Miss Straub received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Washington & Jefferson College (2014) and her Masters of Education in School Counseling at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2016).
Outside of school, Miss Straub enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her nephew. Miss Straub enjoys attending dirt track races at Port Royal and Selinsgrove Speedways weekly as well as other local tracks, occasionally. Miss Straub also works on a sprint car and takes pictures while at the dirt tracks.
Miss Straub is excited and looking forward to working with the students, staff, parents, and community at Susquenita as well as becoming more involved in school activities.

Mr. Andrew Shaffer
Mr. Shaffer joined Susquenita School District in 2016 as an Elementary School Counselor. He joined the High School Counseling department in January 2026.
Prior to working at Susquenita School District, Mr. Shaffer worked throughout the Central Pennsylvania area as a mobile therapist and behavior specialist consultant, as well as a school counselor. He received his BA in Psychology from Millersville University, and his Master's of Education in School Counseling at West Chester University.
Outside of school, Mr. Shaffer enjoys cycling, traveling, volunteering with Learning 2 Lead (a non-profit teaching leadership skills), and hanging out with his wife, Karla, and our dogs, Melody and Riggins. He is a big fan of Star Wars, superheroes, Penn State football, the San Francisco 49ers, and the New York Yankees.
Mr. Shaffer has really enjoyed his career with Susquenita School District and looks forward to continuing his work with the students and community at Susquenita High School.
